Water Based Fishing
Land Based Fishing
As a result of the recent survey, we will run an adjunct to the Summer Fishing Competition with a land based section (LBF) for Kon-Tikis, drones and surf casting. This will run slightly different to the summer fishing competition as it will be based on the fishing species of snapper and kahawai only. The competition will run monthly for four months from November to the end of February. The rules for the competition will be on the notice board in the clubrooms and are detailed below.
Rules for LBF
- Fishing from North of the Manawatu River mouth to the Rangitikei River mouth (Tangimoana).
- Fish will be judged on the length of the fish. (No need to call the weigh master as can be done as soon as you have pulled up your fish if you wish to release it).
- To enter you need to photograph your largest fish (snapper or kahawai) on a club/Fisheries measuring mat from head to tail with your club card on top of the fish showing your name and club number. Make sure that the head and tail are clearly in the picture taken from above – this will be your entry into the competition.
- Then send your picture to Cell 021 232 6838 to enter. (I suggest you enter this cell number in your phone)
Please Note – we may use your photo for display purposes in the club rooms or MMBC newsletter.
- The largest fish at the time will be put on the results board in the club.
- The prize is a $40.00 club meal voucher for the longest snapper and kahawai for the month.
